Born in Leipzig in 1971
1989-1992 studied at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar with Prof. R. Heimbuch ,
Prof. K. Biehlig and with Prof. Hermann Märker in Leipzig
1992-1997 Third horn in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under the direction of Kurt Masur
1997-2008 Principal Horn of the Dresden Philharmonic.
2008-2019 Principal Horn of the Munich Philharmonic under Principal Conductors Christian Thielemann, Lorin Maazel and Valerie Gergiev.
He has solo concerts with the Munich Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig Bach Orchestra and the Dresden Chamber Orchestra.
Regular guest as principal horn in the orchestras of the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio, the Hamburg NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Hessian Radio Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Paris National Orchestra, the Orchester Amsterdam Concertgebow and Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra
Since 2006 Professor of French Horn at the FRANZ LISZT Weimar University of Music.
