Born in Graz (Austria) in 1961.
\nHe studied con with his father in the Conservatory of Innsbruck where he finished his study with special distinction.
\nHe continued his studies in the \u201cMusikhochschule\u201d (University) of Viena under the guidance of professor Adolf Holler (trumpet soloist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra).
\nAt just 17 years old he won first prize in the competition “Jugend musiziert” with a special award from the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.
\nFrom 1983 to 1985 he was a member of the \u201cScenic Opera Orchestra of Vienna\u201d.
\nFrom 1985 he was a trumpet soloist in the \u201cTonk\u00fcnstlerorchester\u201d of Viena.
\nHe has performed as a soloist with the “Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra”, “Tonk\u00fcnstlerorchester” Jeunesse Musicales Orchestra Linz under the direction of Franz Welser – M\u00f6st among others.
\nRudolf Korp has repeatedly played in concerts and on recordings, under the baton of conductors such as Herbert von Karajan, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado, Leopold Hager, Janssons Maris, James Levine, Sir George Solti, etc..<\/p>\n

In 1990 he was Artistic Director of the “International competition for quintets and quartets metal tubes” in Gm\u00fcnd (Austria).
\nThe educational work of Rudolf Korp has been very intense in both his home country and giving courses in different countries of Europe, Asia and South America for Trumpet and metals.
