MASTERCLASS  NATURAL HORN

Edward Deskur is a repolonized Swiss-American. He was born and raised in the United States to Polish immigrant parents.  Studied with Verne Reynolds at the Eastman School of Music and with Francis Orval in Liege, Belgium, as a Fulbright Scholar.
He spent most of his career playing second horn in the orchestra of the Opera of Zürich and is a low horn specialist.
There he met Nikolaus Harnoncourt, who invited him to play with Concentus Musicus, Vienna in 1993.
From
1994 he has been playing with Il Giardina Armonico.
He took the earliest possible retirement from the Zurich Opera in 2017 to be free to play special projects.
Since then has has been the second horn player of the Dresden Festival Orchestra, which plays exclusively on historical instruments and is now doing the entire Ring of the Nibelung.
He now lives in Warsaw, from where he travels all over the world to teach and play both historical and modern horns.
