Assistant Prof. Nury Guarnaschelli

Lía Marina Betancourt Herrera is a distinguished Cuban horn player with a solid career in the orchestral field and rigorous pedagogical and performance training.

Born on March 7, 2002, in Matanzas, Cuba, she began her musical studies at the Vocational School of Arts in her hometown between 2010 and 2015, and then continued her training at the Matanzas Professional School of Arts (2016-2021) and at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) of Cuba between 2022 and 2024.
She currently resides in Alicante, Spain, where she is pursuing advanced studies at the prestigious Brass Academy Alicante under the tutelage of the renowned professor Nury Guarnaschelli.

Throughout her career, she has consolidated significant stage and performance experience.

Since 2025, she has been a member of the Alicante Provincial Council Orchestra (ADDA SIMFONICA) as an academician, after having been a member of the Lyceum Orchestra of Havana between 2021 and 2024.
She has also collaborated with renowned international groups and ensembles such as the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Orchestra, the Matanzas Symphony Orchestra, Virtuos Mediterrani, the Atlantic Orchestra, and Ensemble Habana XXI.
And since 2025, she has been a member of the Brass Academy Horns and Ensemble BAA.
Her excellence and artistic potential have led to her selection to participate in the prestigious Pacific Music Festival 2026 (PMF2026), a major classical music festival held in Sapporo, Japan.
